Wisconsin Wedding Inspiration

by Alicia on August 21, 2012

It’s a late night Monday inspiration! This weekend I managed to escape Chicago (and more importantly Excelerate!) for a quick getaway to New Glarus, a tiny Wisconsin town, to watch some wonderful friends get married. If you’re a beer person, you’ll appreciate the destination- it’s the home of the New Glarus Brewery. The wedding was held in a nearby barn that was simultaneously authentic (cows just a few feet away!) and totally romantic. The picture at the top right is one I took on Instagram – the light coming in behind them was amazing. Congratulations Kate + Ed!

The rest of the board is Gatsby-inspired because I can’t wait for the movie and because I went full on 20’s style to the wedding. It was fun, I wore a beaded dress, crazy headband, the whole thing. If they had Pinterest in the 20’s I’d totally trade decades :)

Clockwise from top left: Kate + Ed, fire, dresses, WI, train station, tote, beer, Gatsby

Wondering if you know the exact location/barn for the wedding? We’re interested in a New Glarus wedding, too!

Thank you :) Beautiful picture!

They were married at the O’Brien barn in Brooklyn, WI. It was really beautiful. Here’s the website: http://www.obrienbarn.com/About.html.
