Lists, lists, lists. I love making lists. Unfortunately I like making them more than I like doing the things on them sometimes. I’m going to try putting lists up on Saturdays for a while.
I read a lot of blogs. Too many, even by my own standards! But the overwhelming majority are written by women. Sometimes it’s nice to get a different point of view, and read something written by… a guy! Here are a few of my favorite blogs written by men:
1. Dudecraft – Paul Overton’s blog “represents a different kind of tribe in the world of making things, intentionally blurring the lines between, art, craft, engineering, and the good old “Can Do” spirit.” Cool, beautiful & quirky.
2. Kottke.org – I’ve been reading Jason Kottke longer than anyone else and I love how he describes his blog as “liberal arts 2.0″. Fresh, digestible, varied content daily.
3. Put This On – Billed as “a web series about dressing like a grownup” this blog by Jesse Thorn of The Sound of Young America celebrates simplicity, detail and classic America style.
4. Seth Godin – This isn’t exactly a secret, but there’s a reason for that. Smart and succinct content day after day makes Godin’s blog a must-read.
