… is still going strong around these parts. We just got in limited quantities of a few super cute sets at Whimseybox. Three of the sets I can’t show you yet because we’re giving our Pro members first dibs at them, but here are the two others – one we’re calling the Chub Collection because it’s super thick and the other is the Glitter Collection which everyone went wild for when we posted it on Instagram earlier this week. (I hardly ever Instagram, but follow Whimseybox because we post daily there.)
It’s been forever since I got around writing one of these! It’s been crazy busy around here since we’re 10 days away from the big move and there’s tons of excitement going on with Whimseybox too. Next week we’re shooing one last round of WhimseyboxTV videos with our videographer Zach so there’s lots of prep underway for that, plus I had a total craft fail this week and a very cute Ikea lamp paid the ultimate price. I’m going to see if I can figure out how to give that project another shot this weekend.

It’s been a while since I took any pictures around the house. In a minute you’ll see why, but for now here are a few things I’m enjoying beginning with some new washi tape and Divine Twine. I ordered them from Etsy seller Pretty Tape last week. The twine will be used to package the January Whimseyboxes while the tape is part of a plan to finally hang some art up in the family room- here’s my inspiration.
The new handbag was a Christmas gift from my sister. It’s reversible with one side caramel leather while the other is the perfect sparkly gold. I love bags this size because there’s enough room for a magazine and Kindle without being totally overwhelming. Thanks sis!
This Klein Tools bucket has been on my radar for a while but I finally broke down and ordered it late one night last week. You know how they say willpower is like a muscle and late in the day you just run out? I blame that. (I also use that as an excuse to eat mini cupcake and tell myself I’m saving my willpower for more important things.) Anyway, I’m not sure what I’m going to put in it yet. I had been thinking about catalogs and magazines as they seem to pile up everywhere, but now that I see the size in person it would really swallow them up. Maybe some thin blankets rolled up? I don’t know. For now there’s an empty bucket in the living room but I like how it looks with our coffee table. I’m a sucker for anything vaguely industrial or heritage.
What’s this? A new sewing machine! I won it from a December giveaway held on Burdastyle and it’s the only thing I’ve ever won online. Actually, come to think of it that’s not true, I also won a pair of tickets to the first festival-style Lollapalooza they held in Chicago 2005. That was a pretty good prize too. Maybe I’m luckier than I realize. Anyway, I’m looking forward to trying out this new machine but a little reluctant to cheat on my Singer. I learned a lot on that machine and am finally at the point where I really have a good feel for it. Hopefully I’ll learn the strengths and weaknesses of each machine and continue to use both.
And now, lest you think things are all DIY and Divine Twine and decorating around here, I present a frightening peek behind the scenes…
Welcome to box purgatory, where cardboard goes to await it’s final fate. And of course recycling day was yesterday so it’ll be another two weeks… at least
Not to mention all of these which are full of supplies for the January Whimseyboxes that ship in less than a week! Btw, if you haven’t requested an invite yet, do it now!
