Speckled is a word I don’t use nearly enough. I’m kind of tired of Easter stuff (especially crafts) everywhere, but here’s a trend I can get behind. I’m ready to put those socks on and dig into a pint of mint chocolate chip. Mmm.
Ever since I ran across these straws and turned them into a garland I have been obsessed. Whimseybox’s Alyssa has a really good idea that’s birch-related that we’re working on, and while working on this post I came up with another. So I hope you aren’t sick of birch yet!
Across the street from my house they are building 7 new townhomes. (On a space that was previously just 2 lots!) It’s been kind of amazing to watch how quickly they put them up, but I’m also getting a bit tired of the gigantic trucks rolling down the street and, last Thursday, the constant jackhammering. Even still, there’s some kind of beauty in the framed houses with all of their lines and angles.
By the way, I used to wear steel toed boots at work when I was an engineer and they looked NOTHING like those beauties above!
Want to really get to know your guests this holiday season? Psychoanalyze them using Rorschach Ink Blot place mats! I had a blast making these a few weeks ago – check out the full DIY on Whimseybox.
We used DecoArt Ink Effects (I cannot get enough of this stuff!) to print the design and then sewed the fabric into place mats, but you could also skip the sewing and start with purchased place mats.
