Hey! I’m back in Houston + got to kick off my first day back home sharing some DIY projects with Deborah Duncan on Great Day Houston. So fun! We showed these colorful leather bracelets, a simple ring project inspired by this one, a modified version of this geometric necklace and my latest favorite ball chain necklace. If you’re interested, check out the full segment here. (I’m too scared to watch!)
Thanks to the team at KHOU for having me and extra kudos to the makeup guy who managed to make the dark circles under my eyes disappear. I’m asking for lessons next time I’m there because it’s the first day in a few months that I look like I got a good night’s sleep!
By the way, there are a couple of other things coming up you might be interested in:
- Houston Blogger Symposium (this weekend!) – I’m speaking on a panel with some awesome Houston bloggers + can’t wait to meet them. I think the Saturday event is sold out, but there’s a kickoff party tomorrow night at the Langford Market on University that’s open to everyone. I plan on stopping by around 7 so come by if you’re in the area!
- Houston Startup Community Roundtable (September 20th) – Interested in startups? I’ll be sharing our experience working at Excelerate Labs / 1871 in Chicago this summer and trying to figure out how we can help build Houston into a world-class startup community.
- Chicago Excelerate Labs Community Demo Day (September 18th) – If you’re interested in startups and in Chicago, don’t miss the first ever community Demo Day. Lots of Excelerate Labs companies will be sharing the pitches we made at House of Blues on 8/29 (sadly, I won’t be there) and showing off some great products.
