DIY: Wrapped Colorblock Bracelet

by Alicia on November 4, 2010

Almost every week I find something I want to buy from Madewell. Today I ran across these fun, pretty bracelets featured on Creature Comforts:

The design reminded me of the post on DIY friendship necklaces on honestly… wtf from a while back. I made a few necklaces inspired by their design but still have tons of colorful embroidery floss left. (So many colors and so inexpensive!)

Aren’t they amazing? Such beautiful colors. It must have taken them a long time to make all those.

I picked up a hinged bangle from Hobby Lobby for $2.00. You could also use an old bracelet you have laying around. I really wanted a solid style that looked more like the Madewell version, but the convenience of buying what was available nearby won out over ordering something online and having to wait. A few knots and a couple minutes of wrapping later (I wrapped right over the hinge and it still works) and I’m finished. I think I’ll wear it with the opening to the inside of my wrist. I only bought one because I wasn’t thrilled about the shape, but I might pick up a few more now because I think a huge stack of these in different colors might look awesome.
