A few weeks ago I got an email asking if I’d like to do a project with the Martha Stewart Living at Home Depot holiday decorations. I was really psyched for two reasons- 1. Last year I didn’t decorate for the holidays and I still feel guilty about it. 2. We’re hosting our first holiday EVER this year (Thanksgiving) so I’ve been thinking about how to get the house ready.
Since we’re having Thanksgiving, a holiday that centers around eating, I decided to decorate our table. I ordered a variety of decorations from Martha’s Arctic collection because I love the colors and hoped that the ice-y theme will distract me from the fact that it’s still in the 80’s outside right now. And the silver and blue is perfect in our dining room.
I used a few packages of the Cone Trees (the Home Depot picture makes them look a little crazy, but they are beautiful and super sparkly in real life) and wrapped a couple strands of ornament garland around and between them. Then I filled in the gaps with these ornaments.
I made the placecards using Instagram pictures from this year applied to ceramic tiles using Sparkle Mod Podge from the most recent Whimseybox. The placecards can then be used as coasters (yeah, I’m still crazy worried about my beloved table) and can either be sent home with my guests, or enjoyed here the rest of the year. Here’s a close-up:

Ridiculously awesome. I can’t wait. And the 80 degree weather?! Amazing!
Oh, that table is brilliant! Love all the sparklies – and the blue and silver theme!
