Alt Memories

I’m sure the blogosphere is bursting with Alt recaps this week. (As it should be, because Alt was awesome!) But I got home Sunday night after 9 days away and haven’t so much as peeked inside my Google Reader yet. There’s just too much going on right now. However, my dear friend Linnea just sent this cute picture from one evening in the room when we Bri, Rachel and I took a break to watch some Bad Lip Reading. (How did I not know about that before!?!)

Here’s Alt in bullet points:

  • Go.
  • The “business cards” situation is out of effing control there. Next year I’m threading my business cards onto a silk ribbon and tying them onto puppies and handing them out. THAT is how you win at Alt.
  • One of the highlights for me was Stefan Sagmeister’s keynote. So inspiring.
  • The Grand America hotel was a first-rate venue and downtown Salt Lake City was cute + walkable. I enjoyed both more than I expected.
  • I LOVED meeting + talking with everyone all weekend. Can’t wait to do it again at Craftcation coming up in March (described to me as “if Alt and Maker Faire had a baby, it would be Craftcation!”) and at future Alt events as well.

I’ll break it down DIY Biz-style in an upcoming post soon, too.

Hi There, Sister! Just wanted to pop in and say… that was some funny stuff… with the whole ‘silk ribbon and puppy’ business card thing! I’ve seen a few posts about the business cards… can you say… ‘overboard’? Lol. And thanks to my teenager, I keep up with the funny youtube vids… have you seen the drive thru pranks? Pretty funny, too.
Hope all is well in Houston. If you ever get up to Dallas, let me know… would love to reconnect!

Hi Mary Jo! Thanks, I admit the puppies cracked me up too, but I was later informed that hedgehogs are the “in” animal of the moment :) Hope you’re well!
